Overall reliability

Comfortable, practical and competent, but somehow uninspiring

KUGA is now 4 months old with 1600 miles on the clock. It has been pretty well fault free although recently have noticed that trip meter is showing some spurious data - full tank of fuel is predicted to give a range of only 120 miles ? It drives very nicely with good road holding & ride quality. The auto gearbox is well matched to the engine that gives impressive acceleration. Interior is well appointed, quiet, even at higher speeds and generally very comfy. Navigation display is too small & too far from driver to be rated as good, especially when compared to some of the completion. Reversing camera is ok but again not great with less than HD performance - Nissan do it better. I do not like the type of engine sounds that the Ford diesel makes. It is not loud or intrusive but just not very pleasant. My previous Alfa Romeo 2.4 L 5 cyl diesel made a much more musical noise !
Power tailgate is a nice feature & works perfectly when you have hands full.
Fuel consumption has been good at 39 mpg in mostly urban use. It does seem to have limited range due to the small size of the fuel tank - about 10 gals max.

Overall excellent build quality, reasonably refined, good comfort & performance but a little uninspiring.
