Citroen C3 Picasso (2009 - 2017)
1.4 VTR+ Petrol
Great Car, but feels too fragile
I downsized from a Zafira, and looked at most of the Mini-MPVs before choosing the C3 Picasso. As usual with Citroen, I got a great deal [and a sc***page discount], taking £4k off of the list price.
I was really impressed with the light and airy cabin with lots of space, although surprisingly little out of sight storage space - the glove box will only take my small sat nav and little else. The flexible boot space meets most day to day needs, but I missed the folding front seat as fitted to the Zafira. Running costs were lower as the car is that much lighter, and although I have not paid for servicing yet as I bought the car with Citroen's 3 years service package, annual services look competitively priced
Regretfully the car spent around 4 weeks with the dealer with various faults - it started with an instrument pod rattle which got worse on each repair until Citroen agreed to replace the whole unit, and over 3 years my car required a new thermostat, drivers door seal, rear hatch struts, repair to a rusted cam shaft!! [a fault which appeared on the day of the 3rd service, and as it reoccurred just after the warranty expired, the camshaft was repaired/cleaned, but not replaced [which the dealer would have preferred, but Citroen declined]. The last straw was when the rear hatch struts failed again - in this case although the car was 6 months out of warranty the dealer fitted the replacements for free.
Overall I believe the dealer did a good job & always provided a free courtesy car, but the repair instructions provided by Citroen UK did not seem to sort the problems on the first attempt.
Perhaps I was unlucky and this is the exception rather than the rule, but I have a new Nissan Note on order...................
