VERY RELIABLE

This car is now 3 years old.
It is a Motability car and is due to be replaced. It has never given a problem although there was a recall to fix a problem where the passenger could operate the footbrake. The front discs also seem to wear rather rapidly and had to be replaced along with the pads at around 16000 miles.
It is used mainly around town and surprisingly although a DPF is fitted it has never given any fault. The one big disadvantage with a diesel engine that has a DPF is poor fuel economy around town. Average mpg is around 36mpg which is a lot worse than the 1900 Peugeot 405td I used to own and not much better than my old laguna 2000 petrol. On a run it will do about 54mpg at 70mph or if you stick at 55mph you might be lucky to get 68mpg. I believe 70mpg could be achieved depending on the driving conditions.
What I don't like is the cheap feel to the plastic inside the car. The door panels mark very easily. The column switches also seem to be rather flimsy. The switch cover has fallen off the speed controls for the cruise control
Another thing I notice is that I get a static shock off the car every time I get out of it and close the door.
Apart from these minor niggles there is nothing to worry about
