The persistence of learnt behaviour - pedals. 10 Sep 2009 (Forum)
rather than the `stair climbing` motion typical of Europe and the West. Further more, Far Eastern peoples in Europe often also have that `flicking` lower leg action. Why? I put it down to observational learning in childhood and that once `patterned` by the brain, it`s a lifelong behaviour -

My Passat is a 2.5 V6 Tdi auto. I've owned it for 5 years and my driving (distances, driving style, mix of town/m-way, etc...) has not changed during this time. The tyre size it takes is a 225/45x17 91 Y. At 49k, I fitted Michelin SPS2's to the front. At 55k, these were switched to the rear -
Jaguar S-Type (1999 - 2007) - Fault wrongly diagnosed, who should pay to fix? 21 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Hi, We have an S-type car that had a leak from around the area of the auto gearbox. The dealer (Jag) looked at the car, and told us the fault was a leaking sump gasket. They gave us a quote to the job then did it at that price. But; then the leak started again, a week or 2 later, we took the car -
Polished yet neglected - modern care (pathetic ;-) 7 Apr 2009 (Forum)
- warmer days - damp mornings, salt still embedded in road surfaces after little or no rain. How is it that everyone knows brake pipes corrode, but it`s almost unheard of for someone to coat them with grease? Instead there seems to be a fatalistic waiting for the MOT failure. Polishing the bodywork -
Jaguar S-Type (1999 - 2007) - possibly insane car change 20 Nov 2008 (Forum)
no desire/ reason to change the car at the moment, I am getting very tempted by all these cheap luxo-barges. The wife has always wanted an S-type jag, and it looks like they are temptingly cheap (£10k for an 05 plate 3.0v6 from a main dealer?). We'd struggle to justify a car like that under normal circs -

I have a Forester S Turbo registered in June 2000 which has covered just 40,000 miles - the handbook shows the timing belt should be replaced at 4 yrs/48,000 altho' I have read elsewhere 3 yrs/36,000 miles - the original belt was replaced in Nov 03 at 25,500 miles so in theory is now due
