If I am buy a new trailer do I need to display my number plate when collecting?

If I buy a trailer for a car anywhere in the UK, can I collect it from the seller without having the correct number plate on the trailer?

The law states that a trailer must display the same number plate as your towing car. We would suggest purchasing an additional number plate before collecting your new trailer.
