Any - Tyre Wear and tyre replacement 25 Jun 2011 (Forum)
I was told yesterday that after 7 years tyres must be replaced irrespective of treadwear or apparent condition. My wiife's car is 8 years old and according to my informant will have to have the tyres replaced this year. This is new to me so is this true does anyone know? -

I have driven Diesel cars for 20 years, and not misfueled yet, (or even picked up the wrong pump nozzle). As I am about to retire, (again), and recieve my state pension, will my brain instantly turn to mashed potato, and if so which misfuel device should I fit? -

Further to my recent post regarding an Octavia, the Skoda website badly needs updating. I cant believe a company the size of VAG has out of date pictures on it of the old Octavia and also the 'build your own' feature has been unavailable for months now. The cars look great, sort it out Skoda! -

Several years ago, well kown tyre/service centre used to change the car oil, filter, new oil inc labour from 15 to 20 quid all in. They used Castrol oil. Are there any good deals our there or my wife's 3 year old Ford Focus? TIA -

I was looking into an engine bay. There was a small modern petrol engine, with modern covers and so on, but space all round the engine with every DIY item being accessible. Does this exist? (Triggered I think by watching an old film featuring period cars.) -

My Mazda 6 is going to be a write off after an own fault accident. What value should I pursue ? - the trade-in price, or the forecourt price of a replacement ? The tax disc is just a few days old - can I remove it when I go and collect personal possessions from the car ? -

Following an old Nissan Almera this morning, I noticed a sticker on the bumper which proclaimed 'WATCH OUT - for the idiot behind me'. Mmmm...I wondered, what sort of driver would put that on their car - then when they braked, I saw they only had one brake light working. Question answered! -

Currently parents considering a one year old model available for less than £6k with low miles. Read the road test here and comes out well, anyone else has thoughts on the model? Seems a bit of a Honda Jazz type of car, good space and flexibility. Model being considered is 1.4 model. -

Although french car manufacturers seem much maligned in general, I have noticed that your average 10 year old french motor has very little or no rust compared to the equivalent age Ford/Vauxhall offering...opinions? P.S. I exclude Renault from this as they tend to rot IMHO... -

SWMBO's car went into the garage today because of ringing sound on the front pads, which came on and off when I braked. Garage fitted new pads. I was told that this is a new wear warning mechanism when the pads are on their way out. Whatever happened to the old warning light mechanism?? H -

Just bought a 3 year old Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec and am mightily impressed. Got it looking like new but it has big yellow stickers on the two front windows imforming everybody that the car is alarmed etc which are refusing to come off. Any ideas on how to removed them ? -
