  Hi good day please advise - when driving in peak traffic my car suddenly just start to pic up speed and struggle to reduse the speed when applying the brakes. This happened with out applying presure on the accellerating pedal, it just pic's up speed increasingly. mostly around 60kph and 80 kph.

  my son recently nudged the rear of another car which braked sharply to avoid another motorist. The damage to the other car was very slight scuff to the bumper and the driver seemed unconcerned. Hey ho guess what? the car(1999 BMW) apparently needs a new bumper, new exhaust etc etc

  Standard tyres on my car are 225/45 R17  If i want to put winter tyres on steel wheels and gain the benefit of deeper tyres say 185/65 R15 or 205/55 R16 which size wheel will fit and not impede my brakes? Bearded John

  Quick warning. If your car has alloy wheels and a steel 'emergency wheel', DON'T USE THE ALLOY WHEEL'S BOLTS TO FIT THE EMERGENCY WHEEL. What usually happens is they are so long they go right through the hubs and interfere with the brakes. There shoud be a special set of bolts for the steel

  Changed the brake pads on the wife's 02 Fiesta a couple of days ago. While doing so, I noticed that both the driveshaft gaiters (correct name?) were worn and one was split. I'm aware for mechanical longevity they will need to be replaced. However, the car is due an MOT in a few weeks. Will it fail
