  whirring when key was turned, i tested the pump from the ecu relay / fuel control module(not sure what its called its a double relay behind ecu). i bridged pin no. 8 and 4 and the fuel pump kicked in. could this just be down to the ecu relay being blown or is it more likely to be something

  Hi I shall try and be as brief and succinct as poss! My o/s indicator at the back does not work at all. All other lights etc work on the car. Garage has told me I need new ECU as they can detect a signal going to the ECU but there does not appear to be any output telling the indicator to flash

  Hi - I have fitted a 1998 Escort TDi (Endura DE) engine into my 2000 Escort Van (originally non-turbo). Fairly straight swap apart from the need for an engine wiring loom and ECU to run the fuel pump advance/retard etc, etc. I have the loom from a doner Escort TD and do not have a real problem

  The replacement engine has the same engine code (DHC) . It appears that the start relay will not energise because the ecu wont put the earth onthe coil, slaving an earth on then cranks the engine but it does not start. I have not checked spark or fuel yet but im not too familiar with ecu
