I Have a

1997 Vauxhall Astra f mk3 1.6 16v Arctic Automatic X16XEL Engine 5 Door

My Question's

I will need to replace the 12 volt Car Battery soon.

With doing just this simple task as changing the car battery

Will i need to have the ECU Reset on my Car

?Please Advise

Just changing the battery is unlikely to cause any problems. You will have to reset the code on the radio though. Can't remember if the Arctic has central locking and/ or electric windows. If it does, just ensure you have the keys outside of the car, when the new battery is connected. Some Vauxhalls built at a similar time, have a habit of closing windows and locking doors as power comes on. I had this myself on a Astra estate, and the keys were in the ignition! The owner was at work, and her dad had to come across town with the spare keys!
