  I have just changed the N/S headlamp bulb on my Lupo diesel, a pleasant but unremarkable little car about as far removed from cutting edge F1 technology as it gets. If VW's senior designer catches his member in his zip this weekend, there really is a God.

  I see Aston Martin are to shift production of their V12 motor away from Cosworth Engineering (VAG subsidary) to Fords engine plant in Cologne from next year. It seems a great shame that this could not have been kept in the U.K. by switching the production to the Ford`s Bridgend operation.

  Bit in today's Telegraph quoting Harriet Harman, the Solicitor General, saying that 700 cyclists were prosecuted last year, 600 convicted and 500 fined. She said "The C P S is well aware that the law applies to cyclists in the same way that it applies to everybody else". Oh, goody!.

  Reports in Autocar about Mazda 3 s draining their batteries when the dashboard lights are left on overnight. Attempts to jump start by recovery firms have allegedly resulted in dashboard meltdown. They recommend recovering to Main dealers

  Looking at 2 Golf 2012 s with a 1.6 TDi diesel engines approx 70,000 miles on clock.  Priced around £6,500. Leaving aside petrol v diesel is there anything to be wary of with these cars.  Any advice welcome.

  Stuck for ideas, my slk roof  come s away a bit at the back in hot weather, mercedes want to put a new roof on. it only needs sticking down according to what i can gather....any ideas on who would do this? Merc won't, local body shops not keen either!
