Should I be worried about the battery in a used hybrid?

I have driven a number of Honda Jazz’s for years. I now want to buy a newer car as the current one is 13 yrs old but I am anxious about hybrid. However the other small petrol manual cars I’ve looked at seem cramped and dark as their rear windows seem small in comparison and I love the storage and seat options in my Jazz. If I opt for used hybrid Jazz how old should I look in reference to battery life and as I have no garage how can I protect the battery in severe frost.

The battery life in used hybrid vehicles is much less of a potential problem than it is for pure electric vehicles, as hybrids use their batteries less of the time, and even as the battery health declines with age it does not prevent the car from driving correctly - it just means a slight reduction in efficiency compared to when the car was new. Even so, buying the youngest car with the lowest mileage that you can afford will maximise the battery life. While cold weather does reduce battery performance, again this is much less of an issue with hybrid vehicles so there is no need for concern.
