If you like cars you'll hate it, if you don't like cars you'll love it
This is my wife's car. She absolutely loves it but can't really explain why. Think she likes being high up and having a bit of power.
In the other hand the car is objectively worse than the v50 that it replaces by virtually any metric.
The physics of putting 2 tonnes of steel 2 foot higher than it needs to be are unavoidable.
This results in a combination of what I consider terrible ride along with terrible handling. It feels like driving an ocean liner but if the ocean liner was connected to the sea bed via concrete rods rather than gently riding the waves.
I have a mk1 bmw z4 that seems to deal with bumpy roads better than this beast. You're so high up that any side to side bump feels like it's moved you a foot side to side.
Seats are good and it's been pretty reliable which are probably the best features.
Even though we have the 'eco' drive e model is still struggles to get 40mpg.
Worst electronic handbrake I've ever used, with a manual box it seems to have all of the disadvantages of an electronic system but none of the advantages.
Want it to auto hold on an incline? It doesn't.
Want to drive off, it sometimes auto releases but not unless you've put your foot right to the floor on the clutch AND given it more revs than it needs.
Just get a D5 v50 for 1/3 the cost would be my advice.
