Volvo XC60 (2008 - 2017)
2.0 D4 190hp SE Lux Geartronic Start+Stop 5dr SUV
Reliable, comfortable and well made.
Bought this 65 regarding car a year ago. I was looking for space and comfort and Volvo reliability. The XC60 met that criteria and it has delivered over the 12 months I have owned it.
It is typical VOLVO inasmuch as it isn't flashy and, of course, this model has been recently replaced, so it was hardly cutting edge when I got it. Most of the precious comments cover the good points and bad, so no need to go over old ground.
I will say that it is extremely comfortable and passengers seem to like it. It does go well in sports mode and the free wheeling in ECO is fun on motorways when going down hills. I have found the boot quite large and we'll shaped.
Just a couple of niggles.
The positioning of the list switch and petrol cap release is not good. I keep switching the lights on and opening the filler cap as my knee keeps hitting the switches when getting in and out of the car. Obviously a combination of my height and seat position.
The other thing is fuel consumption. It's not too bad at about 33 mig on my average tankful and about 40 on long run, but nowhere near the claimed figure others seem to achieve.
And I should add that it is difficult to judge the front when parking. Front sensors would be nice.
But these are minor points and I think I will keep the car for some time as there is nothing else that is saying "buy me" to me at present.
