Subaru Forester (2013 - 2019)
2.0 XE Premium Lineartronic
Perfect practicality
Bought the last of the run-out models, my eighth Subaru and fifth Forester. Didn’t see the point of waiting three months for the new E model, as the cost and mpg figures didn’t add up.
I still love the Forester. The Eyesight system, which my 2017 car didn’t have, is superb when you get used to it, and a switch to open all the doors at once is an added convenience. The visibility is unrivalled, but I feel that reversing audible sensors would be a useful addition to the camera. The ride is fine, and the car swallows many large bags of greenery to take to the tip. I am getting a average overall of 35 mpg, which tops 40 on a long run.
The Forester is no sports car, and yes, the CVT makes it a bit revvy under hard acceleration., but so what? Driven as intended it remains a good comfortable practical car.
