Hyundai ix35 (2009 - 2015)
2.0 CRDi Premium (4WD) 5dr 4 X 4
Frustrating!
As I had changed jobs this purchase was to replace a company car (new model X3), which I had owned for 6 months.
My reason for buying this car was simple - I needed a good looking 4x4 that had a good spec, good fuel consumption and wasn't overpriced like some of the more fashionable ones seem to be!
Overall the car is great, well spec'd, spacious, reasonably quick and comfortable. However, it isn't perfect! The quoted mpg is well out. I have never managed to get better than 41.0 and that was on a very light footed trip down the motorway! Other frustrations include the auto headlights don't come on until it is quite dark, the screen on the satnav is impossible to see on anything more than a reasonably bright day, the fuel indicator has a mind of its own and the steering is quite light.
My car has also been plagued with a few electrical problems. I have had the instrument panel replaced, reversing camera replaced and had a frustrating problem where the satnav, speedo and fuel consumption indicator all stop working. This latter problem took 5 trips to the garage totaling nearly 8 days in total. Hopefully now fixed.
To sum up a good car that needs a few tweaks! perhaps the latest incarnation of the car has ironed out some of the above frustrations. I would still recommend this car
