Worth every penny!

I was debating for some time whether to get this car, but now I have it, I have absolutely no regrets, and is by far the best car I have owned.

Having previously owned a Hyundai Tucson, I expected to get a well built, reliable motor which was a pleasure to drive....and I got one!

The IX35 is extremely comfortable to drive, the ride is smooth and quiet and it handles really well. I am very pleased I opted for the 2.0 model, as the engine responds really well and the extra power is very noticeable, compared to the 1.6 version. The car is also exceptionally well equipped for the money, boasting heated seats front and back, climate control, leather seats and trim, cruise control, reversing camera and sensors, cooling glovebox and keyless entry and stop/start, which I have really grown to like a lot. The car inside is roomy and the quality of the interior is a huge improvement on the Tucson, and I feel exceeds much pricier rivals for example VW.

The media pack, although fairly expensive, is again worth every penny. I note the issues previous reviewers have had, however this was the first newly updated media pack the dealership had sold, and all those disappointing niggles have now been resolved. The sat nav now accepts full postcodes, and I find it is extremely user friendly, and looks great, with good detail and accurate directions. I also really like the live traffic updates and having followed its advice upon notification of serious traffic delays ahead, have found its reroute feature very accurate and a very useful feature. The Bluetooth connectivity work really well, and the telephone hands free is also very clear. I can also connect my iPod via ether Bluetooth or the USB connector, both which work perfectly.

Having just experienced a large amount of snowfall, I can also now review it's handling in snow. The 4x4 so far has been more than adequate in the snow, easily ascending the many hills in my town and the downhill descent mode is a great feature, dropping the car safety and slowly down the steepest of hills without the need to brake.

MPG, this is the only area I am slightly disappointed in, but at the same time understand that an SUV is never going to be the most economical of cars. I also except that the car has not yet been run in, having only done 2000 miles, therefore the MPG is likely to improve over time. On a long run, I am getting about 40MPG, short journeys on mainly flat about 33MPG, and in hilly conditions, about 28MPG. Not fantastic, but not awful either.

All in all this is a fantastic car, lovely to drive, well equipped, and reasonably economical. I would highly recommend it to others, and you can not beat the 5 year warranty, and very reasonable price tag.
