Hyundai i10 (2008 - 2014)
1.2 Classic 5dr Hatchback
Not a pretty car but perfect for our needs
Having little interest in cars I purchased my i10 by mistake. Intending to downsize and replace my i30 with a i20 my wife and entered the showroom and sat in what I thought was the i20 it seemed suitable and the salesman suggested a test drive in the demonstration car. We both liked it but just in curiosity I asked to see an i10 first, rather sheepishly we did look at a i20 but preferred the i10.
Now, after fourteen months, we are well satisfied with our choice, comfortable, smooth running, adequate acceleration, heater and air con good, 5 year guarantee, 4 doors easy access and egress.
Problems: parcel shelf bracket snapped but replaced immediately under guarantee. When sun visors flipped up against the roof it produced a boom, this was solved at no cost with a two inch block of foam and twin stick.
As pensioners the car is mainly used locally, annual mileage 6k, fuel average 44 locally and on a run 52/54
Not a ‘pretty’ car, the 2014 model looks far better, will probably consider changing to that in 2/3 years.
