Honda HR-V (2015 - 2021)
1.5iVTEC SE 5dr
Practical and reliable with a few niggles
Bought secondhand with very low mileage from a main dealer. We got a space saver spare wheel with the car. The car has been used for a variety of trips from local shopping to 250 mile each way journeys. The good points:
* Comfortable and plenty of space for 4 adults plus luggage
* Economical, 45 mpg round town and 53-54 on long trips
* Flat boot floor and low lip - good for our big dog
* Good to drive with generally well laid out controls
* Nice gearbox and steering
* High seating position
* Climate controls very easy to use
* Excellent build quality, no faults so far (8,000 miles since purchase)
The bad:
* Engine is slightly harsh but has quietened down with more miles
* Engine is short on torque unless revved hard
* Garmin Sat Nav is slow and clunky to use, no way to change the volume, it's LOUD or off
* Infotainment interface is also slow and clunky generally
* Original tyres are soft and wear quickly, will replace them with another make
Ours is a facelift version 2020 which is better and quieter than the 2019 models. You can tell by the different front. Overall it's very practical and reliable. Note that the Japanese built ones tend to be better quality than the Mexican ones. You can chack the VIN to see where it was built.
