Honda HR-V (2015 - 2021)
1.5 i-VTEC S
So far fairly happy.
A good looking car with more space than you can expect for it's size.
During normal driving it is relaxed, smooth and quiet, use it's large rev range though to get somewhere fast and boy you can hear the engine working, not a bigg issue because it has enough power without racing the revs up to 7000rpm.
Hate the stop start, it's a gimmick that offers virtually no savings because what money saved on fuel if any will be wasted replacing batterys that wear out due to the excessive number of times the car is restarting, I simply switch it off which has to be done every time you start the car.
The auto headlights can also be a pain and you have to got to sidelights to switch off dipped beam, another battery wasting gimmick.
There is an eco button that apparently does something to the air con and cruise control, can't see that making a lot of difference.
Fuel consumption after some short local and a couple of A road 50 mile drives has returned 41mpg, not bad for the weight of the car.
All in all though it will do me fine because I feel happier with a normal engine rather than a small 3 cylinder turbo engine working it's socks off to keep up and resulting in poor returns on the MPG to do so.
It's a nice car to drive, is admired by people, feels quality and is very practical for a family whilst retaining an option to drive it like you stole it for the petrol heads.
