Honda HR-V (2015 - 2021)
1.5 i-VTEC EX CVT
Effortless
Ignored most of the motoring reviews (apart from HJ's) and test drove this model and was pleased I did. My new car was delivered about 6 weeks ago and we have been delighted with our choice. Rev it and it goes, yes it can be noisy but that's the nature of VTEC engine in my opinion. Drive slower and it is quiet and effortless. Lovely leather seats and all the toys. Good dealership experience and took 5 years servicing for £600 - good value. Sell car sooner and unused services remain with the vehicle, which should help resale value? GAP insurance from a independent for £92 (offer). No wheel & tyre cover at £400. Instead, I bought a full sized alloy (from a 2017 HRV) & tyre with 6mm from online seller for £170. Gets round any delay (10 days) from claiming on W&T cover and the fact it is difficult to source a spacesaver. The boot is big enough and if going on a journey I can sling spare into boot and it is ready to go. It might even go under the back seat but have not tried it. No relying on glue which probably wont work anyway. Wont suit everybody but it is ideal solution for me, and you can always sell the spare on, if you sell the car. Take motoring reviews with a pinch of salt and try a test drive - you might be pleasantly surprised.
