Honda Civic (2017 - 2021)
1.0T VTEC SE 5dr
Very Good but could be Excellent!
This car handles extremely well, with a strong ride quality and well considered steering weight. The looks are indeed marmite but I like being a little different so the overstated bumpers, etc. are appealing. The 1.0 turbo is indeed strong but the mpg is no where near stated manufacture claims.... I am getting 43mpg average with a mix of driving. The 1.0 3 cylinder turbo is noisy from cold but you do get used to this and it settles once warm and at speed. Only really noticeable in 1st and 2nd gear. Only owned my car 5 weeks and needed new condenser sorted under warranty. Also the front parking sensors have a mind of their own in the rain.... this will be looked at in a couple of weeks at the next service and I believe their is a manufacturer warranty fix for this. Long term reliability... we shall see. Excellent driving position, comfortable seats, smooth, precise gearbox and clutch but some materials feel cheap. Seat material and plastics could be better. Road noise a definite issue which could be rectified using more sound deadening. Excellent in most areas and average in others making this vehicle very good.
