Could have been a wonderful car but was made very badly

I owned my Honda CIVIC FG67XNZ from new i.e. almost 7 years and 40K miles. It gave me so many problems that I really should have handed it back within the warranty period but the reputation of Honda for being reliable a brand blinded me and I thought the problems were just down to poor handling at the dealership.
The first problem was that the sensors kept going off and in the first week they changed the bumper claiming that it was a factory fitting error. The next thing to keep going off was the tyre warning light then it was the automatic headlights/ high beam. Then the final straw was the electrics just going mad as a result of cheap OEM battery and alternator. Did I mention that I never managed to get Cruise control to work properly and the paintwork was incredibly fragile. Now that I am doing identical travel in another brand of car - I now understand that the problems with the CIVIC electrics were even more extensive than I realised when I finally got shot of the car.
Despite having had full main dealer service for 6 years and incredibly low mileage, Honda refused to pay for or even contribute to the cost of this know error with that batch of Honda civics and so I ended up shelling out £1100. I finally read the Honda owners forums and found all sorts of horror stories on there for identical issues that I had with that car including the alternator problem. I don't know if moving the manufacturing back t Japan has made any difference to the quality of the cars but needless to say that will be my last Honda ever. Yes it drove really well and the fuel economy was good as well as having the most amazing amount of space in the boot. Unfortunately, since I own my cars, it was far too pricey to own and repair.
Japanese cars used to have a really good reputation but now that I have had really bad experiences with both Nissan and Honda (worse), I won't touch one with a barge pole.
