Ford Kuga (2013 - 2020)
2.0TDCi 180 Titanium Powershift AWD 5dr SUV
Hugely disappointed and dreadful main dealer too
Our trusty Honda CRV which we'd had a number of years was nearing the end of its life, so we fancied a change and after trying several similar size SUVs, we decided on a 4 year old diesel Kuga from a Ford main dealer.
So here we are a year on and I couldn't be more disappointed with a car purchase !
Hendy Ford are an AWFUL dealer and care NOT about any "after purchase" (of which we've had a number of issues) ... but this review is about the car itself.
The GOOD points - very comfortable for driving and passengers and nice and quiet.
The BAD points ;
Dreadful fuel economy - we're lucky to get 30mpg urban driving - Motorway better at around 42mpg
This is the Auto version and acceleration while "pretty good" is jumpy thanks to the dreadful gearbox ... it simply will NOT accelerate smoothly at any time !
Electronic handbrake requires at least 2 pr 3 pushes to disengage.
Numerous issues with exhaust sensors.
Windscreen washers block constantly.
Heavy on tyre wear (only done 10k miles)
We bought this to be an economical (as it's diesel) and reliable car and it is neither !!
I have recently changed my small commute car to a Hyundai i10 and couldn't be happier... it is everything the Kuga is not.
Seriously thinking about trading the Kuga in for a Tucsan ...
Avoid the Kuga at all costs IMHO
