Very good car

Bought when just 4 months old and less than 900 miles from Citroen, Birmingham, replacing a 2004 Fiat Multipla. Citroen had supplied a lot of Grand Picassos for use to tranport competitors and officials at the London Olympics. Hence most suddenly appeared two months later on their dealer network at much reduced price. I paid £15K, list new was £22K but new ones were available at £18K.
I wanted manual and the 2.0 diesel, - most in stock were 1.6 litre or EGS or both, hence we ended up with a black one.
Car has now done £65K miles without fault. Dealer serviced for first four years, local independent this year, after Citroen dealer in Nuneaton returned it from service with so little oil in it that the oil light came on the next day. Only none service item replaced is one headlight bulb this year.
Still original brake linings.First set of tyres, Michelin replaced at 28K, second set, Avons replaced at 53K. Everything still works. 45 mpg on normal driving, - short journeys, easily does over 50 mpg on long trips. 150 bhp Engine is smorth relaxed with lots of torque, - easily the car's best feature. Ride is comfortable and long jorneys, holidays in SW France and San Sebastian and to Venice accompomished with ease.
Did an indicated 109 MPH on German autobahn once. Lots of room for five, two extra seats awkward to access but handy to have when needed.
Only issue is the black colour which shows every scatch and only looks clean immediately after being washed.
I came very close to replacing last year with same engine in current shape grand Picasso but anti diesel political sentiment driven by the self appointed environmental lobby made me decide to keep it for another year. Am now looking to change for something smaller witha petrol engine now kids are old enough to drive their own cars. Beginning to feel a bit flimsey in some areas, - trim, plastics - Citroens are built down to a price but I will be sad to see it go.
