  • Alfa Romeo Guiletta 2.0L Diesel - Alfa Oil change Questions 11 Jul 2013 (Forum)
Hi, Alfa seem to do Oil Changes and services as separate items. Do Alfa services always include an oil change ? In the service book there is a separate Service and Oil Change section. If the car had its oil changed as part of a service should both sections be stamped? Or is the oil change

  • Vectra C oil changes 22 Apr 2005 (Forum)
I've just bought a 2.0 dti, and the oil changes are stated as being done every 30000 miles with long life oil, this seems a long period for a diesel, what are your views on this, as i'm used to changing the oil every 5-6000, and what is the best oil to use? Thanks

  • Oil change too risky on Good Friday 6 Apr 2004 (Forum)
Thought I would get the oil changed on my car on Good Friday, so rang National to make sure they are open. Yes they are but apparently the one at Durham will not do an oil change because if anything goes wrong they won't be able to get the parts then. I rang other branches who will do an oil
  • Oil Change Hot or Cold? 10 Sep 2003 (Forum)
What does the BR think of the temperature of an oil change? Most manuals say change hot, as the waste products will remain in suspension and the oil will flow quickly. Other 'mechanics' advocate a cold change, thus ensuring that all the oil is fully drained into the sump. I have always drained
  • 'Quick' oil change companies 20 Apr 2006 (Forum)
Is National the only company to offer a low cost, quick, oil change? I tried Googling for this but just got a load of guides telling me how to change the oil! Changed it today and for the amount I save now that I have to use fully synth top notch oil, it's not worth doing it myself anymore.

I  called to check up on the price of an oil change as Kia do not do it at the 1 year 10000 mile service. Someone posted a while back about the first service on a french car  and the extra for an oil change. I think this beats it. filter is £8 and oil is bulk

Local Ford dealer recommends 12,000 mile oil change and 33,000 plug change. These seem very long intervals to me. I note Honest J's 5,000 oil change advice but who is right?

I changed the engine oil on my focus (1.8 petrol) today but was unable to remove the oil filter. Access was awkward and the filter was tight, I'm not sure when it was last changed because I have only had the car a week. I put in new oil but left in the old oil filter which was slightly damaged

I changed the oil on my 1.8 tdci 2 weeks ago and have covered about 300 miles. Normally I would get a garage to change it (anyone agree its a hassle to change the oil and filter on the diesel focus?). After the change the oil looked about 25% black. Now its about 80% black. I thought normally oil
