Seen a few of these on sale, and seem very low price for the type of vehicle. I'm thinking of changing our Renault Grand Scenic for an Espace, but heard so many horror stories about the engines going bang, the later 2.0 version may be a better engine, but aren't they all saddled with DPFs so -

Planning on buying a new VW Golf. Originally I had my mind set on a 1.2 TSI 105 BHP. Then the sales guy turned my head and I got interested in a 1.6 TDI. But I have heard with my low mileage (5,000 miles/year) there might be problems in a TDI with the filter (DPF) or flywheel (DMF -

Why can’t the Japanese make a good diesel engine 19 Apr 2023 (Forum)
the Yaris diesel with DPF breaking the tradition of peerless reliability. But at least Toyota accepted the criticism and arranged a generous claim arrangement. OK diesels are not popular in the US, Japan or Australia but it’s so unusual to level a complaint across all these Japanese -

legality of 'chipping' an engine 1 Dec 2013 (Forum)
I see that it cinsidered illegal to remove the DPF partly because do so interfers with the emissions. So why does not 'chipping' an engine fall into the same category, because I cannot believe that this action does not affect the emissions? Maybe this is considered a grey area? BTW, my Audi
