  Is it strictly necessary to remove battery terminal connectors before attaching a battery charger, or indeed not at all? In the old days with a dynamo it didn't matter. Nowadays with an alternator I'm not so sure. Recently I removed the leads and the radio worked fine with no attention afterwards.

  Having fixed top core plugs to get rid of leak, I now have a misfire with engine management flashing as the engine is asked to accelerate. Plugs were replaced in January, leads and coil pack replaced this week, still got problem any thoughts.

  I am connected with a Motor Club. Recently the question was asked:- "Does anyone know how to change the polarity of a dynamo?" Apparantly, it seems, if you touch one of the leads to earth while the dynamo is running, the polarity is reversed. Allegedly. Does anyone has any ideas on this subject

  I want to start my Dutton (which needs a new loom) by bypassing the ignition. I have provided a + and - to the coil direct from battery, then turned the engine over using the starter. I am not getting a spark from the HT leads? Does the body of the coil need an earth? Is it a live or earth wire
