was reading a magazine while SWMBO was shopping and came across 'power tool racing' Basically it's hand power tools nailed into some sort of chassis and the course is 75m long 'cos that's their longest power lead! How about six chainsaws driving a go-kart or a leaf-blower powered dragster?
What would you build?

They did this on Mythbusters once with leaf-blowers.

Alexei Sayle once suggested a special car for drunks who live in rural areas and have to drive because there's no public transport - with a body made of foam rubber and, so it couldn't go fast enough to hurt anybody, the motor from an electric carving knife...

I did see once a car or dragster with about 24 chainsaw engines but after a search this is best I could get www.gizmag.com/go/7264/picture/34251/ so it's already been done - copy and paste link

That's the same engine they are already using on motorhomes, though I believe many have been de-tuned.

When does this blasted holiday season end?

I know exactly what you mean. I used to commute along the B3057 coast road from Weymouth to Bridport. Yes, I know it's a world heritage coast and it was a privilege. But it was one of those things that made me realise I am better off as far from the rest of the human race as possible.
