  • Ford Focus - Ford Focus 03 Ghia 1.8 TDCi - climate control dead 19 Nov 2010 (Forum)
) but the heater, blower and air con are all dead. No output at all, although the engine speed reaction is still there when the air con is turned on or off. The screen heaters still work, and the coolant is getting up to temp as normal. Resistors? Fuses? Switches? Anything particularly common that fails

it does it runs fine. Sometims though it starts first time. I've searched the forum and someone had a similar problem when the engine was hot and fixed it by replacing the Coolant Temperature Sensor but my problem seems to occur mostly when the engine is cold. Could it still be the sensor that needs

  • Volkswagen Touareg (2003 - 2010) - 2006 2.5 New camshaft & oil cooler 19 Jun 2009 (Forum)
Less than 4 yr old, 53,000 mile on the clock, recently got error message "insufficient coolant". VW garage (which has always maintained it) advised oil cooler and camshaft needs replacing, £2,500 bill! Considering age & miles, does this seem strange to anyone else? I know very little about cars
  • Renault Scenic (2003 - 2009) - 2004 1.4 - Warm Starting Problem 5 Jan 2009 (Forum)
cuts out. You can try to start it may be 3 or 4 times before it will idle over OK. There are no fault codes on the ECU, I've already changed the crank shaft positioning sensor, the air inlet temperature sensor & the engine coolant temperature sensor, but none of these has made any difference. Does
  • Volkswagen Golf III (1992 - 1997) - 1996 1.4 Head and oil consumption problems 25 Dec 2008 (Forum)
I have a petrol AEX engine which has a lot of "mayo" in the oil filler cap and has always (during the several months we've had it) run with a "tappet" type noise from the head. It seems to use too much oil and coolant and I expect there is a small leak internally across the cylinder head gasket
  • Renault Scenic (2003 - 2009) - 2004 1.4 Warm Starting Problem 17 Dec 2008 (Forum)
dies. You can repeat this up to 3 or 4 times before the engine will idle successfully. If you can catch it on the accelerator you can keep it revving and then it's OK. I've changed the crankshaft positioning sensor & the air inlet temperature sensor. I was going to change the engine coolant

  • Ford - KA (2002) - Smokey on cold startup 4 Sep 2007 (Forum)
once warm, its fine. Drives well, uses a litre of oil in 6k, doesn't use any water, doesn't pressurise coolant excessively. Valve stem oil seals look ok with rockerbox off - soft, not hardened as far as I can tell. Any thoughts? Ta Neil Subject line changed to include model and year. - PU
  • Suzuki Wagon R = Vauxhall Agila 2 Aug 2007 (Forum)
(rather than right below). I opened the bonnet, and there is no Suzuki mark on the 1.2 L engine! In fact "GM" marked stickers are everywhere! In fact, coolant cap instructions were written in English & German. So, basically the car is Vauxhall Agila (at least engine & gearbox say so). So, why does
  • Peugeot 306 1.8 XS whistling from dash 10 May 2007 (Forum)
was the heating system but the car is not overheating or loosing coolant and I have not been getting steam / condensation problems. This one has me stumped. It seems to do it even when the car is quite cold. I was temped to put a radiator sealer in just to try it but don't know if that would have any effect

  • Audi A2 problem 29 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Hi I have had my A2 for 3 years. Always serviced by Audi Garage. The car has developed a coolant issue which apparently Audi can't resolve - they have been in contact with Audi Germany who say to replace the engine. As the car is 3 years old and has done 120k miles they are basically saying
