It's SWMBO's birthday coming up, and I'm struggling for ideas for a present (why are women so awkward to buy for? ;) ). One idea is that she needs driving lessons, as she wants to learn to drive. She did actually have some lessons about a year ago, and passed the theory test, but due to work

  • Learning to drive in the late 2030's 22 May 2023 (Forum)
Whilst out today I followed a Tesla with L plates. Got me thinking that there will come a time in the mid to late 2030's when the majority of driving school cars will be EVs and, unless the rules are changed, new drivers won't be able to drive cars with a manual gearbox.  Many first

  • Is the driving test too easy? (I don't think so) 20 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Quite often it's suggested on motoring forums that the driving test is too easy and this is one reason for poor driving standards. However, to anyone who thinks the driving test is too easy, I turn the question round. Would you, hand on heart, be confident of passing the test if you had to re-take

  • Safe driving ads on radio 24 Mar 2006 (Forum)
Has anyone heard the new safe driving ads running on Virgin radio? I'm a bit tired of hearing heads smash into each other in the seatbelts ad because I wear my seatbelt and don't drink drive, and the "Don't drive tired" one has a man talking in the most sleep inducing way he can, which is probably
