  The time has come to change my car. Have a budget of around £7000-£7500. New car must be as new as possible, cheap (ish) to run and reliable. Currently looking at new shape 05 reg focus which are just in budget, any other suggestions would be welcome. Regards Dave

  Hi there, I hope someone can give me an idea of what's wrong with my L reg 405. Replaced battery about 6 weeks ago and has been running fine since then. Worked fine this morning then tried to get back in car this afternoon and there was no power at all.

  I have a Vectra 1.8 2003 petrol/lpg car.I have been told damage can be caused to the valves due to running on gas. Does anyone have experience of Flashlube,which i am told is a cure! regards dave

  does any one else own a '04 2.0 diesel zafira? since day one i have never been able to get a decent mpg out of it (38-40 mpg on decent run) its been in the garage a few times havin various things replaced with no joy

  My wipers have started running at a snails pace and I suspect the motor. Has anyone replaced the front windscreen wiper motor? How easy or diffcult? Any known pitfalls? Any instructions. I'd appreciate some help.

  I have a 1993 rover 218sld diesel which is using a lot of water. After a couple of minutes running the water is boiling out of the overflow pipe on the expansion tank and continues to boil until the tank is empty. Any suggestions on what the problem could be would be appreciated - thanks.

  I have read numerous accounts of diesel cars being run on various cooking oils...I am thinking of giving it a try. I have an Astravan 2003 1.7 dti with 35000 miles on it. Has anyone tried this or is it a false economy.

  I have a Rover 75 that when started from cold and the accelerator is depressed there is a knocking noise which seems to come from No 4 cylinder as the engine warms up and the accelerator is depressed the noise lessens the noise disapears when the engine is at normal running temp what do you think

  hi, ive got what looks like oil in my rad top up bottle,cleaned it out used the car for a week and its back, im not loseing oil from engine and the car runs fine with no lose of power any idea where its coming from, thax

  Modern Ford diesel engine. £14.00 Unleaded Petrol. £42.00 Diesel. Probably a residual £2 or £3 of diesel already in the tank. The vehicle runs, seemingly unaffected. Its only gone far enough to get it the two miles home from the gas station. What would be your pragmatic thoughts ?

  It seems you cna get some pretty low mileage examples of these nice LOOKING cars for a pretty good price (5-6k). What's the story? Are they a nightmare to run - I've heard a few rumors about reliablitity and build quality on Alfa's generally. Should I avoid these? Can anyone suggest an alternative??

  Hi HJ and All, Sorry to hear about the problems, all I knew of it was that I could not log in this morning, otherwise busy over the weekend. Is it true that two weeks are lost completely, not even a back up at the ISP?, they usually run RAID servers. Such a great shame if truly lost for ever

  Hi all, this is my first post so here go\'s... i have a 1994 v6 Omega (auto) I have very little heat coming into the car. I have changed the heater exchange valve (at back of engine) the car\'s temperature is running around 87-92.

  My wife,s 2002 ford focus 1600 cooling fans are running continuously even when the engine is cold. The fans always start up a few seconds after the engine is started. Have tried disconnecting switch on radiator, but this just stops one of the fans. Any suggestions? Thanks

  Our volvo v70 tdi has started to produce excess smoke, even after a hard run it still is puffing out black smoke. Car has been serviced but still does this. It has done only 125,000 miles. Any ideas? it still drives 100%.
