  • reluctant Xanti TD starting 15 Nov 2001 (Forum)
specialist. I also change the oil myself in between the 6,000 service intervals. For about the last 25,000 miles it has been a bit reluctant to start. I tend to use the heater plugs twice and it always starts quite well. It never fails to start if I do this and once started it runs perfectly, but unless I do
  • Used 'new' Range Rovers 11 Sep 2001 (Forum)
I am shortly about to look for an early 'new' Range Rover manual diesel to replace my company car. The reason for this is to tow a comparatively heavy, twin axle caravan (1350Kg) which we hope to upgrade to early next year. My budget will only run to dealer prices for an early 'm' 'n' reg Range
  • Mazda 5 - New car 9 Mar 2023 (Forum)
Got Mazda 5, 2013 has 52,000 miles. Nice car, runs well with sliding doors. Thought had it for 6 years. I’m spending quite a bit on petrol, thinking whether it’s time to change to a hybrid. Would it save petrol having a hybrid. I would probably look for a car, about two years old.

Hello. Car starts and runs 30 seconds and stops. Car for sale and thinking to buy. Not sure if it does it repeatedly. Could it be the tank and sender immersion unit or is there an engine high pressure fuel pump could be to blame? I have no kit to measure
  • Dashcam as CCTV 16 Jan 2023 (Forum)
There is a bit of fly tripping near where I live. I need to place a camera in my car and point to the problem area.  I do have Yi Camera, which are great for indoor CCTV. I can't use it in the car, as it will not run off a USB power bank.  Just wondering if I can use

Overheard a conversation a little over an hour ago. A non-drivrer asked ther neighbour if they could give them a lift this morning as they were concerned their bus for work would not run. The neighbour declined as they did not want to take the risk! Sounds they are sticking to off-roading over
  • Honest John's Motoring Agony Column 28-10-2017 Part 1 6 Nov 2017 (Forum)
@ DF, film the issues with your infotainment system on your mobile when they happen. helps the dealer use them to show Skoda, and hopefully get a resolution for you before the warranty runs out. might just be as simple as needing a software/firmware update.
  • VW Scirocco 2.0TDi - Stop Start in turbo diesel 20 Oct 2017 (Forum)
I have a 2015 Scirocco 2.0TDi with start stop function. I've read that it is recommended idling a turbo diesel for a few minutes after a long motorway run to avoid damaging the turbo but how does this work with the start stop facility kicking in automatically when coming to a stop on the off

Just noticed the number of new registered 17 plate cars especially Mercedes. Are they doing amazing PCP or other deals as you see people who would normally be driving a run of the mill car now changing every three years for a prestige brand especially MB. Low interest rates or what?
