Vauxhall zafira diesel. - Engine stops after 30 seconds - strickjumpers

Hello.

Car starts and runs 30 seconds and stops.

Car for sale and thinking to buy.

Not sure if it does it repeatedly.

Could it be the tank and sender immersion unit or is there an engine high pressure fuel pump could be to blame?

I have no kit to measure pressures.

It needs hooking up to the diagnostics to start with.

I would look for something else unless it's very cheap and you're looking at this as some kind of project.

Walk away, find another - it's not like Vauxhall Zafira is rare.

As others have said, walk away. Zafiras are really common, why saddle yourself with one that's already broken?

Thumbs up to that Doc! OP is probably looking at cheap and cheerful cars, nothing wrong with that obviously but I wouldn't look at anything that didn't even run..

Edit: Around 35 years ago I did buy a Austin Maxi that would barely run, gave the the guy £20 for it, turned out the airfilter was blocked solid, changed the filter and it ran like new....

Snap - ish. Bought a 10 year old Viva in 1983 for £50 that was incredibly underpowered even for a 1256. Air filter was unbelievable, totally blocked - replacement restored normal service.
