I have a rough idle, more obvious when cold than warm. I have changed the plugs, leads and run injection cleaner through it, but it's still there. Any suggestions would be appreciated -

apart from the obvious what does carb cleaner do? do you spray it into the carb (airbox removed) with the engine running? wondered if it was worth using it on a tired mk 3 fiesta 130k, it doesnt smoke from the exaust and the emmisions were fine at the MOT in feb, thanks -

Does anyone know if a modern car doing 55mpg uses more energy to build and run than an older car without EFI, A/C, swathes of sound deadening, central locking, etc, etc, etc doing, say 30mpg, or have manufacturing processes developed as well as engine designs? -

This is a general query about 2 stroke engines. In my teens I owned a 2 stroke motor cycle and noticed at night it used to run smoother. I picked up somewhere that it was due to more moisture in the air at night. Is this a correct and is this the reason that some WW2 aero engines had water -

SWMBO 2001 Mazda 1.6l, 323F. Engine warning light is now permanently illuminated- car still runs fine and no apparent problems. Is this an MOT failure or will it depend on the emissions readouts? -- I wasna fu but just had plenty. -

Xantia front suspension 25 Sep 2006 (Forum)
I have a P reg Xantia. The rear suspension works fine but the front suspension is stuck in full height all the time! The front sphere has a wire running to what looks like a solenoid, this clicks from time to time and gets hot, is this the problem or a result of another fault elswhere? Marc -

Fiesta spark plugs 3 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Ford Fiesta 1.400 cc petrol Duratech engine 2003. I have just changed the spark plugs on the above car at 31,000 miles. I have set the gap at 1.3mm, but there is now a slight missfire at slow speeds. Is this the correct measurment for the gap, as the car was running OK before I changed them. -

I have a 2002 passat pdi 130 which continually throws up warning lights for the esp and abs and a more alarming one of "ENGINE WORKSHOP" at random and regular intervals. When checked on the computer none of the alarms are "real" the car runs great but this is most irritating , anyone got any ideas -

I've got a 3 year old astra 1.6, only done 22K. Engine light has just come on (steady). The handbook says could be an emmission problem. The oil looks a bit grubby and it is due a service, been used on short runs mostly. Has anyone any advise. Thanks -

My daughters fiesta revs very fast when changing down gears with the clutch disengaged. This only happens some times.When first started up in the mornings it seems to be ok. The thottle is not stuck and the cable runs freely. Does any body have any ideas. Thanks in advance. -
Warrenty Direct for BMW's 16 Jan 2006 (Forum)
My BMW's three year manufacturer's warrenty runs out in the next couple of months. I suspect that BMW's charge for a further 12 months warrenty will be expensive so I have been considering using Warrenty Direct(WD). Has anyone any experience of WD good or bad? Thanks, Rocky
