fiesta 1.25 high revving. - sparky100
My daughters fiesta revs very fast when changing down gears with the clutch disengaged. This only happens some times.When first started up in the mornings it seems to be ok. The thottle is not stuck and the cable runs freely. Does any body have any ideas. Thanks in advance.

I think this could be the switch above the clutch pedal. If it is disconnected or misaligned you will get the symptoms described.

sounds like the idle speed control valve. i would try cleaning it first. i always clean them with carb. cleaner and then put a bit of clear grease in there to lub. it back up.
