Vauxhall Insignia (2008 - 2017)
SRi 2.0 CDTi (160ps) Auto 5dr
Nice!
CDTI Insignia - very common model. Sharp looking car, smooth and comfortable.
Get the automatic - much better gearbox than the troublesome manual transmissions from this time period. Still manages good performance and 40 - 45 MPG. Very nice to drive.
SRi spec ride is a bit harsh but I can live with it. Very stable in corners however.
Boot space is massive.
Reliability wise it has been pretty average, I must admit although it is a generally cheap car to buy and run, there are a few common problems to watch for, worst being the oil seal/pick up valve on the CDTI engines can cause the engine to seize with low oil pressure, something to look out for, but a good garage can fix it before it becomes a problem for around £500. Worth it to save the engine.
The rest of the money I spent on the usual wear and tear of higher mileage (brakes, exhaust, suspension, etc).
Overall a decent car.
