Vauxhall Insignia (2008 - 2017)
1.8i VVT 140 SRi 5dr
OK
Great looking car, the original 2008 - 2013 Insignia in SRi spec. 18 inch alloy wheels in darker colors looks amazing. Very comfortable seats. Nice to drive.
Watch out for coolant leaks and gearbox issues on this model, expensive and annoying. My issues were covered by warranty thankfully when I bought the car. Otherwise as reliable as any car if looked after with oil and belt changes. I've put about 6000 miles on it this year relatively trouble free.
1.8 petrol is a pretty dull engine (though I'd recommend it over the unreliable diesels), average performance and economy. Zero torque and dies at the sight of a hill, plus you only get 36 - 37 mpg at best motorway cruising, shorter drives it will drop to 29 - 31 mpg, r****** by todays standards.
I'd recommend it but only if you can get a looked after car for a nice price. Do not pay too much for one as this car has been updated and replaced by the 2017 model which is much better, but if you are on a budget the old Insignia is still worth a look.
