Vauxhall Insignia (2008 - 2017)
1.8i VVT 140 Design 5dr
Looks great, otherwise average car
A great looking car in black, this Insignia looks sharp. 2014 Design model is a bit basic but the car still has enough interior electrics and alloy wheels.
Interior is quiet and comfortable. Relaxed motorway cruising is what the Insignia does best. Huge boot area. Interior materials feel good quality. At ten years old there are no squeaks or rattles on my car.
Good to drive, handles OK but the 1.8 petrol is a pretty boring engine, not very fast and does around 35 mpg on average, only just about acceptable with current fuel prices.
Reliability has been average, just the usual wear and tear, nothing too expensive. I am on 90,000 miles now. Had the car a year and a half now and when purchased it had 77,000 miles. All I have had to do is the timing belt, services, new exhaust and brakes.
Overall been a decent car but I would recommend anyone buying an Insignia to go for the newer 2017 onwards model, I have heard it is much better car.
