It is relaxing to drive but has shortcomings

Mechanical unreliability is a drawback. This is surprising for Toyota, with its reputation for reliability. The front drive-shafts of my car began to wear at about 35,000 miles and now require replacement at great cost. I have owned many front wheel drive cars over nearly forty five years of driving and none of my cars have had this problem. Even my first car, the most basic Mini, which as a new, inexperienced and over-enthusiastic driver, I badly abused never had this problem. Toyota were unhelpful with regard to remedying this defect.

An irritant is the rear windscreen wiper which is set for driving on the right. It leaves unswept the very area of the rear screen through which you view the road behind you. It is strange that Toyota has created such an advanced vehicle without considering the needs of drivers who drive on the left.

Due to the two foregoing matters, I am now considering replacing the present vehicle with a VW Bluemotion or a Ford Focus, both of which have similar eco-friendly properties and performance.
