Toyota Prius (2009 - 2016)
Hybrid T3 1.5 Hatch
Best car ever!
This is actually one of the last Mk 2 1.5's owned by initially by Toyota Epsom. In "lagoon Blue" (i think) this colour really suits the shape. We bought when it was 1 year old and 8500miles but have no problems. Though our mileage is very low at approx 4000 per year. cruising at or just below the legal 70mph you can achieve 62 as advertised but any "spirited drive will reduce that to around 58. Its VERY quite so those tdi's that claim more mpg will also need a louder radio. Since most of the time we are a couple on the drive the passenger is better able to "operate" the touch screen controls. Two gripes, 1. why is the reverse bleeper INSIDE the car. (I know which way I'm going). 2 why when you selected aircon on the steering wheel, does it turn everything off when you switch off from the wheel?
The 1.8 mk 3 offers (in reality) only 4 mpg more so you have to balance the residual of the Mk2 against the purchase cost of the Mk3 (which could be £14k) is it worth it on a low miler which would probably out live you. One tip I had was that when parking push the P, yes it goes there anyway but alledgedly its better for the little 12 v.
Toyota offer a monthly maintenance plan which may be worth while for you. We also have Toyota breakdown assistance which includes at home and euro.
