Toyota spoiled a previously good car

Like my headline says, Toyota spoiled a previously good car. The Aygo was always a simple, relatively cheap city car but now they've SUV'd it and added a whole load of unnecessary and poorly executed tech that has resulted in a clumsy heavier weirdly styled car. I understand that most of the safety tech will be required by EU law from 2024 anyway but they don't seem to appreciate that for many drivers it's an unwanted, unnecessary expense. Also what happens once the car is a few years old and this stuff starts failing? I know Toyotas have a 10 yr warranty but what owner of a small city car is seriously going to pay Toyota main dealer service prices to maintain the warranty? I bought it without test driving it as no demonstrators were available in my area but I made a mistake buying it. My previous Fiat Panda Pop was a far better car in every respect despite Fiat's reputation.
