Toyota Prius (2009 - 2016)
T3
reliable and economical.
Feels slightly wider than the Gen 2. No cruise control in the T3 but it's of limited use anyway for economy.
I have fitted "tails" to the little boot battery which makes trickle charge much easier when it's been left unused for a while. Economy of the 72mpg mark is only likely on a long country road with a 50mph limit. Normal driving in winter at 70 is closer to 55 in winter and 63 summer. Using the eco button just gives you a firm throttle. The oddity in winter is that to select heat, you must first select aircon/screen mode/in car/automatic for about 2 miles, without eco mode. After this you revert to "normal by cancelling mode and aircon. Eco takes the pressure of the engine/battery. In the cruise, regardless of tyre choice it can get noisey from the road surfaces.
