Toyota Auris (2007 - 2013)
T2 1.4 D-4D 5dr
Economical spacious good to drive and comfy but not without its flaws
I brought my Auris in December 2023 from a dodgy dealer and it did have a few issues I had to do the following to the car
1. Major service
2. Reverse light switch replacement
3. 12v battery replacement
4. Alternator earthing repair
5. Steering wheel replacement (my choice so I could have steering wheel audio controls and cruise control)
6. Clock spring replacement (required to do the steering wheel upgrade)
Most of the problems the car has had were more to do with the lack of maintenance and care from the last owner. But I will say the car is relatively easy to work meaning the average DIY home mechanic can happily maintain and repair the car.
The car easily gets 60 plus MPG easily it’s very comfy and decent to drive and has plenty of space. The insurance costs are low and the tax price is average. Specification of the car was a bit low as it’s the basic one but the wiring to fit upgrades like steering wheel button controls are already there so I easily upgraded and just plug and played.
Downsides the A pillars I have found cause an obstruction due to there large size altho it’s not the end of the world and I have found the headlights don’t tend to light the road as much as other cars I have had previously did.
If I had to rate the car out of 5 I would give it a solid 4 it’s a very good car and perfect for most.
