One of my favourites

I am now in my seventies and the Vitara is a straight-forward, uncomplicated car, with a comfortable ride (especially on the Michelin Cross Climate tyres). It has a high seating position and plenty of space. There is a proper handbrake, unlike our previous VW Tiguan, which my wife and I both disliked. Also you don't have to worry about idling the engine to prevent damage to a turbo. The car came with an excellent reversing camera and rear sensors and the garage fitted front sensors for free. I call these items "the pensioners' pack".
There are three issues which Suzuki could address. There was a lack of a spare wheel of any description, (but I have now managed to obtain one through my local garage), a shiny dashboard which reflects in the windscreen and I have difficulty seeing the ventilation controls in bright sunshine, and also because the ventilation controls are too low down I have to take my eyes off the road. For safety, my wife deals with the ventilation, otherwise I make sure it is set up before I set off. By the way I have no health problems and my eyesight is good, although VW Customer Care told me that I was too old to drive when I complained about the DSG auto box in my Polo. That was the reason I changed it before the warranty ran out and exchanged it for the Vitara. I think VW are over-rated and the Suzuki Vitara is nicer and lighter to drive than the Tiguan.
