Reliable and effortless drive

Bought new after experience with 2016 same model.
Persuaded dealer to add dog guard, rubber boot mat to the deal.
Excellent mpg on motorway driving c. 70mpg but this drops to high forties on short town trips which also cause DPF warning to illuminate if n.ot burnt off.
Comfortable to drive with supportive seats and good driving position.
2ltr diesel is both powerful and flexible.
Handling is fine but if you're buying an estate you're unlikely to be hurling it around corners or twisty back roads.
Only one problem - failed battery that was not recognised by the stop/ start system causing it to fail to restart in standing traffic in the outside lane of M42 at rush hour. Replaced by VAG at no cost and cant fault Skoda roadside assistance (AA) who recovered the vehicle within 45 minutes.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this vehicle and perhaps demonstrating a lack of imagination, spouse has already replaced her earlier Octavia combi with a petrol version of the same which addresses the problems of short journeys very well!
