Skoda Karoq (2018 on)
2.0 TSI 190ps Sport Line DSG 4X4 5dr
Good with one huge problem
In many ways this is a very good car; Roomy, comfortable, and enjoyable to drive. The economy is not remarkable even though we do regular longish journeys. (It's one of the last manual 4x4 - there wasn't a 190ps manual box to tick!). However, on at least six occasions the locking system has let us down, despite, eventually, the front door locks being replaced by the main agent. Of course it is now out of warranty after letting us down once again on Easter Monday in a remote part of the country. The key was left inside and closing the boot lid the car locked itself with the dog inside. After being in touch with the Green Flag designated garage the only solution was to smash the passenger window. Looking at the Skoda Karoq forums it seems this is not an isolated problem. There is little point in having a car which ticks so many boxes, yet cannot be relied upon to lock/unlock. It's back to a Duster for us.
