Peugeot 3008 (2009 - 2017)
3008 I (Phase I, 2009)
Unreliable in Winter
In summer the car is mediocre. It does the job. In winter though this car is horrible from inconveniences to simply being inoperable. The shape of the car allows water to collect in the folded mirrors, the door slope allows snow to plop right into the seat when you open it up. The great travesty of this car however is the battery. Everything is battery controlled except a single keyhole that also freezes. And should the battery die you cannot: open the door, open the hatch, release the parking brake. Ah but the coup-de-grace is the battery itself. With the snub nosed engine bay the battery is wrapped up and tucked away so it cannot be changed with any ease at all. Truly a travesty of a vehicle in anything at or below -4 degrees C.
Special note on the extraneous moving parts, the HUD and the Navi/Radio screens fold up and down for no reason at all. Truly this is a vehicle the designer said because we can, not because it works.
