Practical but disappoints the reliability

Had this car for more than four months now and have done 8,000 miles already. Bought it used with 23,000 miles on the clock.
Even though the car was still under the warranty and less than 2 years old, within the first month of purchase I had to replace the rear brake discs and pads as apparently one of the rear brake cylinders was failing to release the brake pad and thus wore out the disc. This as well as the front brake pads and discs which needed to be replaced due to regular wear cost me more than 1,000 euros in Belgium.
Last month I also had to replace something in the front suspension. Was not expensive but still disappointing.
Other than that, however, the car seems to be running ok but the plastics feel cheap and make noise and more generally the car does not feel like one that will last me for the next 5 years if I chose to use it for so long.
On the positive note, it is very practical. The boot is exceptionally big and has 2 levels while the rear passengers have decent leg room. The car is also very fuel efficient on the motorway and is comfortable for driving long distances.
If it wouldn't have cost me that much in the servicing until now, I guess I would recommend it to others. Now I'm not sure.
