Nissan Micra (2003 - 2010)
1.2 N-Tec
Nearly good
Bought this car from new for my wife to use as her daily commuter, she loved the size and the economy of roughly 48 mpg.
The ride and performance is ok but the car is a little cramped even though it's a five door version.
The n-tec version had sat nav and a good radio cd, the handling is fine and the car pops along but starts to struggle at motorway speeds, although I am over 6'2 tall it is fairly comfortable for me in the front even on a long journey which this car is not really suited to.
Few issues with the quality of paint which scratches very easily and Nissan dealers are very pricy considering you are having a run around serviced, £350 for a standard service seems a bit strong to me.
With the car just out of warranty the heater matrix went and a bill for £700 (the dash had to come out to get at it) was not what I was expecting on a car under 4 years old and with less than 35k miles. My previous Micra did around 90k with nothing other than routine servicing.
