A significant step up in quality & reliability from the Discovery 3

Acquired to replace a Discovery 3 that we had run for five years. Whilst that car never let us down bar having to have the air suspension compressor changed it always had more than one advisory with each MOT. Rectifying those issues was never cheap even using a non-franchise specialist.

The Discovery 4 was a considerable step up in quality with the 3.0 litre engine better suited to what is a big car. Bar the replacement of brake pads & discs which is not infrequent with such a heavy vehicle we have had four years of trouble free motoring with the car. Pleasingly there were no advisories with the MOTs albeit that it is important that vehicle is serviced in accordance with the manufacturer's recommended schedule.

The one gripe we have is the electronic oil dip stick. A conventional dip stick is so much simpler.
